The Art of Articulating Use of Force Events

Due to our litigious society, it is imperative that law enforcement and security officers understand the importance of thoroughly reporting Use of Force events. Officers must learn how to identify the facts and circumstances within a Use of Force event that must be documented, how to articulate those facts and circumstances, and to effectively illustrate the officer’s perception of the event. This interactive course encourages input and questions from the students as well as participation in meaningful discussions. A key factor of adult learning is instructor-facilitated student generated self-learning. By using this method there will be an abundance of opportunities for students to share knowledge and personal experiences during the course. This will result in the students collectively learning from each other and the instructor. A course workbook will be provided for each student which will assist them to follow the course content and can be used to take notes.
